We have inspiring news from the forefront of Ethiopia’s digital journey! A high-level delegation from Ethio Telecom, led by CEO Frehiwot Tamiru, recently visited the headquarters of the Ethiopian Artificial Intelligence Institute (AI Institute).

The delegation toured the AI Institute’s facilities, getting a firsthand look at the advanced AI and other modern technologies being developed there. The team expressed great admiration for:

CEO Frehiwot Tamiru commended the Institute for its promising work aimed at benefiting not only Ethiopia but the entire African continent in the AI sector. She also praised the rapid completion and operational readiness of the Institute’s new building.

Dr. Worku Gachena, the Director General of the AI Institute, provided a detailed explanation of the massive capacity built in AI technology. He also expressed sincere gratitude to Ethio Telecom for the unreserved support the company has provided since the Institute was established.

In response, Ethio Telecom’s CEO shared the company’s own experience with Artificial Intelligence, reaffirming Ethio Telecom’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Institute. The goal is clear: to make Ethiopia a competitive player in the global AI field.
